What is a lead actually worth to you?
Most builders judge a lead by what it costs. The better question is what it earns. Put your own numbers in below: no email gate, no tricks, just your maths.

What that means
If a qualified, exclusive lead costs you less than £1,875, the average lead pays for itself before you have even priced the job. That is the whole argument for exclusive leads, in your own numbers.

The maths, explained
How much should a builder pay for a lead?+
It depends entirely on your job value and close rates, which is what this calculator works out. A qualified extension lead is worth a lot more than most builders assume: if one job profits you £10,000 and it takes six leads to win one, each lead is worth up to £1,600 to you on average.
How many leads does it take to win one extension job?+
With qualified, exclusive leads most builders quote around half the enquiries they speak to and win roughly a third of quotes, which works out at about six leads per job. Shared directory leads convert far worse, because several builders are quoting the same homeowner.
Why are shared leads worth so much less?+
When a directory sells the same enquiry to five builders, your chance of winning the job drops by roughly that factor, so the value of each lead to you drops with it. That is the maths behind exclusive leads, not a sales line.
